Hello, I am a visual effects artist and a generalist with over 15 years of experience in the industry. I started my career in projects ranging from graphic design to motion graphics. As I progressed further into larger commercials and videos, the focus on complex fx animation and simulations became a real passion. This made me want to return to school to focus on a master’s degree in visual effects, focused on fx work. I have been fortunate to work at the best studios and with the most amazing artists in the world, and have been able to work in multiple countries on some of the highest grossing films and TV series to date. I have worked on over 40 film and TV series titles, creating highly detailed and difficult simulations using SideFX Houdini. I specifically enjoy doing destruction work in Houdini and building complex procedural setups. I have destroyed buildings and mountains, smacked Sylvester and Wile E. Coyote in the face, simulated magical whips, shot fireworks out of Katy Perry’s face, wrote and simulated crazy fractals, flocks of bats, mangled cars and robots, insane Marvel Studios requests, made Batman shit his pants, spent more time than I care to look at The Rock, and blown up TIE fighters in Star Wars with the crazy fx artists at Framestore, Industrial Light and Magic, Weta Digital just to name a few. I have been part of the teams that have been nominated and won an Oscar for best visual effects work, as well as other awards and recognitions. I am proficient in python and scripting in general such as vex and have used this to advance workflows and setups. I really enjoy working with other talented artists and core members of the teams to collaborate on workflows and complex shot work. I am always eager to learn new skills and techniques, and I am passionate about delivering high-quality visual effects. If you’re after more specific information about shots or projects I’ve worked on please view my admittedly out of date showreel, IMDB, and LinkedIn page. Some of this information is not so easily summed up. A more detailed list of project contributions can be provided upon request.
